Congratulation on becoming a Lindeman owner. If you will send me your mailing address to li********@***oo.com I will at no charge send you a Certificate with any information I have on it along with a DVD of the Lindeman Story and Beyond for sharing your information with me.
Ted – Looking for the three clutch disc adjusting springs. I go way past the cotter pin holes when I get close to getting the disc where it will grab. I’m guessing the springs are likely not the correct ones, can’t really believe they could be worn off that much. BO parts book indicates these are part number B423R?
I would check with Jake Winn @ nw*************@***il.com or Tony Carbaugh @ to**@***********rs.com or to**@*vi.com or your local JD dealer.
I have s/n 332926. Its in pretty rough shape but I intend to get her back to running condition. The engine is stuck and it is missing some of the gears, nothing like a challenge!
Hi Eric, Thanks for the update. If you will send me your mailing address I will send you a certificate of registration with that information along with a DVD of the Lindeman Story and Beyond for shearing your information with me. I will also change the serial number page with your name instead of Bob Smythe’s.
#335762 owned by Bill Sword in Vernonia Oregon is now being restored by his son Scott and Grandson Orion in Sublimity, OR.
Thanks for the update Scott. I will update my owner list and map.

Thanks for registering your Lindeman. If you will send me your mailing address I will send you a certificate with any information I have on it along with a DVD of the Lindeman Story an Beyond. I will also add your Lindeman to the serial number page and map. If you have a photo of you and the Lindeman please send it also.
Yes it is getting harder to show my Lindeman and the mobile archives for me also. I look forward to hear from you and seeing your photo.
Hi Ted,
I have been compiling information on A,B, BR/BO tractors with factory electric start and lighting…the so-called slant dash tractors. Although the 1940 parts catalogue shows the part option for the 1940 BR/BO, they have been illusive to find so far. Much better luck with the 1940 A and B tractors as well as the mid 40’s BR/BOs.
I am wondering if you have come across any 1940 BR/BO Lindeman tractors with electric starting and lighting? I’ve seen the mid 1940 tractors with these options but curious if JD supplied any of the electric start /lighting 1940 model tractors to Lindeman.
Many thanks, any info appreciated.
Carl;
I have a list of 190 chassis that were shipped to Yakima to be made into crawlers with starting & lighting equip. w/generator less battery, the first one is serial # 335984-E on 3-26-1946, I have added the E for my own information.
I have a Lindeman serial #336472 that was my great grandfathers. Looking forward to getting it running! I would appreciate any information. Address is 6003 co rd 20 Orland Ca 95963. Phone (530)520-9590 thank you
Hi Justin,
Sorry to say but I do not have the records of the first owners of the Lindemans that were sold out of the Yakima area. If you will send me your great grandfathers name and town I will include it on the certificate.

Hi Ted-
Bill Carroll here. I’m an antiques dealer up in Fargo, North Dakota. Over the weekend I ran across an old chromolithograph print in original frame, titled “Deere Vehicles Are All Right”. It features a deer pulling a John Deere buggy, and probably dates from the late 1800s. I was hoping you could help me get it into the hands of a collector. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Bill
Sorry Bill,
It sounds interesting but doesn’t have anything to do with Jesse Lindeman or his brothers.
Hi Ted,Mike from IL near St.Louis, long time.Send me a email, that pick of the d,high crop and orchard was taken at one of our shows.Paul sold them after buying them from polk.I know the new owner, plus he has the BI.I have a friend who wants a lindeman archived and i have another that might be one of the last ones.Need to know final number.thanks,Crawlermike.
We have crawler 336516 here in Santa Rosa at Old World Winery, and would love to be entered into the database (form not working). We use it for hay rides every autumn!
Ted, I am talking to the owner of 336117. He is thinking of selling it to me. It is electric start with lights. Do you happen to know how many Lindys were built with electric start?
From the records that JD sent me there were 196 shipped with lighting and starting equipment. When you get it let me know and I will send you the certificate with what information I have on it.
Would like to give you a serial number on a Lindeman owned by Jack Purinton of Lamar, Missouri. #334086 Jack and his wife Betty have a nice collection of John Deere tractors and crawlers. Some finished, some still being worked on and some still waiting. They have their collection available (free admission) for viewing at the John Deere Legacy store in Lamar, Missouri.
Thanks Bob for the new serial number to add to my list, if you look at the serial # list you will notice I have updated it and the Location map. Thanks again Ted
Ted, I was wondering if I could post one of my crawlers for sale on your website? I did finish the two that you helped me find. This is a nonrunning tractor that I want to sell. It is SN#333154 and I am asking 3500.00. I have most of the hard to find Lindeman parts for it. It just needs a donor tractor for the engine parts.
Jon, Yes I will post it, send me a photo of it and any contact information you want me to show.
Ted, I just got home yesterday with s/n 335798 from Joe Giordano Nick

Ted, Dozer Joe has a barn fresh Lindeman advertised for sale in two publications(Western Antique Iron Trader and Yesterdays Tractors.) He has the serial# as 335798 in both publications. not sure if you have that # yet? Hope things are going well for you, Larry Schwarz
Thanks Larry for the heads up on the Lindeman Joe has for sale I didn’t have it listed in my registration but thanks to you I do now and on the web site also.
Ted,
I am working on a presentation for the Gathering of the Green on the history of John Deere industrial equipment and I would like to use some images of the D and GPO crawlers. Please let me know if that would be possible.
Thank you,
Chris
Hi Chris,
Yes you can use any of the photos that I have. Let me know the ones you want to use and I can send you better quality ones then you can get from screen shots. The only thing I ask is that you try to work lindemanarchives.com into your presentation.
Ted, just updating you. I struck a deal with Jon Brown on #337162 and will hopefully be picking it up early this weekend. I will send some pics as soon as I get it picked up. thanks again for your input.
